Very long no blog liao.... Currently job is ok, everything is ok. But waiting for the van. Dont think it will happen any time soon. But nvm, because by not driving is a more relax thing.

There are a lot of things to be learn and I have set my study target again. CCNA. Will work hard for it. Hopefully tomorrow night do not have any OT. Not sure though.

Friday... But can't feel it.

Yah, it's 0931 hrs now. Yes, I am still at home, blogging. Why>?
Because last night I worked late again. Doing some testing till 0205hrs. Reached home and showered, slept @ 0300hrs. Having the bad feeling that I need to go down again.

Somehow today I did not sleep in too late. Just need to get up. Wonder is it because of work, since I changed job, I always feel that weekends are precious. Yet felt that weekends flew past very fast. Thinking of how to manage the situation better. Will by having a van make life better? But it's up to them to give one right. I can't keep on pressing when I know there is none. Now still thinking of what time to go to work.

But yesterday learn quite an amount from bear. Perhaps too much for my little brain to remember. I got advice from two seniors: don't turn on your turbo too fast and enjoy your honey moon.
This makes me wonder, am I too hard working? But sometimes I felt that it's work commitment ba, not I turning on turbo. Honeymoon? There are so many things to learn, although I can surf net freely, but that does not means that I can surf the whole day and not work right? Hmm, am I stressing myself overly? I don't think so. But maybe I am wrong.

very tired day

Today has been a tiring day for me. Guess I slept too late last night. Went recce with Water rat for his work place after sending kid home. Then after reaching home I still played game for a while.

Today reached Bouna Vista mrt station late and missed the company bus. But got to know another colleague from other department. Because she also missed the bus and we chatted along the way. Then got to know that her husband is a signed on personnel. Guardsmen. Hmm, then after reaching office, I tried to find out her position. But the intranet was not as friendly as my previous place. Then I googled for her and I spotted a facebook photo... Suddenly I felt her husband's face in the photo resembles someone whom I seen before in the army.

But the photo is too small to confirm anything. Today at work, I try to decipher the configuration file again and studied some simple US and DS commands. Was glad to leave @ 1830hrs. But darn the bus 74. At the bus guide it states 5-10mins interval during PM peak. Pui... Wasted a very long time waited for one yet cannot board it. When the next one came, I managed to take it. But freak the bus driver, slow and unsteady. Worst of his kind. Wasted a lot of time before reaching Ang Mo Kio where I transit for another bus. Because I do not want to take it anymore.

Finally reached home and ate my dinner. So tired. Will sleep early tonight.

Birthday dinner.

Just returned home from a birthday dinner. Did not know it was meant to be a birthday dinner. Anyway just go with kid and our friends. For this, I have forgo to go site testing. This means no OT and more time for self.

Today morning rooster asked me if I can go site tonight. I declined him. I today decline a lot of things, including not going for another colleague's daughter showers? Thats what is stated in the email: Invitation to my daughter's shower.

I reached office at the same stipulated timing for work and was busy clearing the emails. 100+ of them, although mostly NMB. Then I began to decipher the configuration file and trying to google what the commands means. Soon it was time to go to site to mount the equipment. Went there, assist to mount and went to YCK for lunch. Had a "he zi" noodle, nothing fantastic. Then went to another site to put on the cover for equipment. After that went to another site to collect some covers and finally reached back office.

I spend the later part of the afternoon trying to decipher the configuration file. This time with the help of the release notes CD. It was much clearer, but guess my mind was in lala land and could not absorb much. Nevermind, tomorrow then absorb, but now at least I know where to look for when I am not sure what the command means.

Got to sleep liao. Not sure will be activated to go site later to mount equipment, but guess they will let me sleep. Tomorrow will continue to read on the command guide and decipher the codes.

First maintainence with vendor alone

Although it's nothing to brag but I did my first maintainence with the vendor - Jack. It was a simple task and I am glad I did it. Just returned home and sleeping soon.

Anyway, yesterday went to Eric'nsr mother's wake. Hmm, very sudden and he seems terribly upset over it, although not showing it.

On Saturday went to ECP. Wanted to try cycling to Changi via the new park connector. But it rained. Was lucky to siam the rain. Then wanted to go to the Kallang Leisure Park. But rained again. Ended up in Orchard Cineleisure with kid. Saw an Apple concept shop. Really like the Apple products. Walked ard a while and went to Paragon to have dinner @ The Soup Restaurant. Perfect place for a soup lover like me, but seems like portion was a over kill. Too much liao lar... After dinner went for a walk and saw yet another concept show. The Sony concept shop. The 40" TV seems small, maybe due to fact that it is placed beside a 70"? Was impressed by the 70" :) but no $$$ to buy lar.

Eventually went to kid's place to play PS again and took a bus home. Save some little money. Yes!!

Ok, enough blogging for now. Sleeping soon. If sleep too less will become old quickly one. So must sleep more. Haha.

finally no need do OT today

Today reached office at 1145hrs. Just after setting up, bull looked for me and requested me to help him conduct his maintainence on Monday. After teaching me what to do and how we were just in time to go for lunch. We went to Kim Tian there for Curry Chicken chop rice. The boss was so fast in introducing her food that we agreed to what she mentioned. We go there because it was a birthday lunch. Although there was no celebration there, but we just went together.

After going back to office, already no mood to work. Confirmed the final details with bull, then I went into a DND mode. Was surfing the net, do nothing constructive. Then suddenly got meeting again. Yah yah yah, same issue. Not sure am I needed, coz I am a small fry, I went to toilet shit first. After the meeting, there are some discussions on what to do and so on... I just crossed my fingers that tonight I will not be required. This is because I need to go settle some rental stuff with kid. Praying hard. Eventually left office @ around 1900hrs.

Met up with kid at Vivo and went to Seng Kang. Ate delifrance. The delifrance very chia lat. The seafood bake rice is damn horrible. It was more like porridge. I will not eat there again. Was of money. Up till now, my stomach still feels a bit gassy and bloated. After dinner, we went to settle the rental and soon went back to her house. Played a old PS1 game and I rest for a while before proceeding home.

Hope I can have a good rest over the weekend and of course more time for family. This week, the work is horrible.... wasted too much time.

Ok, I deserved it. Yesterday was a damn bad day for me. I dont know who did I offend, but things were always going against my wishes. Darn it. From morning till just now 5.30a.m. Buses were missed, extra routes were taken. Kena go site again. Reach home at 0530hrs. I will remember this lesson. When you can go home, go. Don't stay back and talk cock. Not even with any one. Stay professional, do your job then go go go...

Just because I feel bad abt going home a bit too early, I stay "a while" to talk cock with weasel, then time flies. Next thing I knew, boss came... Shit. I'm trapped. And thats the end of story. Wasted my time again. Today not going to site anymore. Got stuff to settle with kid. Darn it.

Another day

It's 0040 hrs now. I am still here blogging? I just reached home, bath and I am here. Waiting for hair to dry.

Today reached office @ 1200hrs. Not totally my fault, I waited damn long for bus 91. Approx 20mins or so. Just when I reached office, they are leaving for lunch. So I just join in lor. Went to clementi to eat lunch. After lunch, went back office again, to pray that there is no need to go site. But too bad, just before 1430hrs, I am being informed that I need to go down today with bunny. (same as yesterday). We got rooster to send us there and as well as sending himself home lar. Then we start the netting again. For almost 4 hrs nothing happen. We are just waiting for it..... Then suddenly the symptoms appear and it was on my lap top. I am busy taking screen shots and logs till I left out the CPU utilization screen shot. Orginally I have a program to help me monitor it and I thought by saving the file, I can save the screen results then. Kaoz, by the time the entire saga ended, I tried out the file and nothing was captured. Not sure how I am going to be torn to pieces by Crocodile.

After the whole saga ended, we waited a while for my boss to come and then we are off from work. That was 2300hrs - without dinner. We went to eat at clementi again. And chatted a while before heading for home.

Guess I am too tired now as I am feeling a bit giddy... Going to sleep soon. Don't know tomorrow got any more testing... zzzzzz

dont go onto msn...

Ok, why am I blogging here instead of working at office. This is because I am kena activated last night. I was happily msn-ing but then soon I was saying bye to friends, my colleague - bear msn me. I'm thinking it's impolite not to say "hi". So I just replyed "hi". That's it. I am told I kena some duties today afternoon - to go a particular place to test traffic.

I am thinking: "tomorrow test traffic, ok lar". But god knows, later some other colleagues were added to the chat and soon things are getting real. One of my colleague is still in office. Oh man... it was 2330 hrs. As it was raining heavily, I prayed that I need not go. This is because I am a small fry and nothing much for me to do. But soon just before I shut down the computer, I receive a nudge from bear and he told me I am activated. Oh god, there goes my sleep.

I reached the site by 0020 hrs and began to wonder whats happening. Soon I did my part by netting. I did this till 0315 hrs where the exercise was called to a halt. Reached home by 0340hrs and slept till now. Am going to office soon and continue part 2 of testing later.

Arghh... anyway I have got a dry cough and darn it.. It's not going away. Irritated. Thinking what can I do... Hmmm, better waste time now and go to bath then to work.

My paper and my day.

Today was on time for work. So as usual, I took "wo bao" and "today". Want to complain abt the "wo bao". It is damn thick. Morning papers are meant to be thin and concise. Why should "wo bao" include english section. Really feel so sad that it lost its meaning.

As usual, today working is reading more stuff again. Try to read read and read. Must really plan to have a plan. A plan where I know what I am doing and not going round in circles. Afternoon went to NT site to do some testing. Then went to PL site to deposit some stuff. Finally went to gym and bought a card for kid after dinner. Kid today went to see doc abt her foot. Warts. The doctor uses liquid nitrogen to freeze the cells and kill them. Hopefully it will be effective. Will know it in a few weeks time. At the mean time, she will have to "tahan" the pain and be a good gal.

I gtg sleep liao. Because it is such a extremely good rainy weather. Muahahah....

Maintainence day 1

This morning went for my second maintainence. But it is the first one that last throughout the night doing something. Well, I laid some fibers and do some physical work, but main bulk of the time was spent waiting for rooster. He was trying to ensure that things are working out, thus checking this and that.

Initially I was feeling ok and not that sleepy. But after waiting for a while and looking constantly into the screen blankly, I went into power saving mode. I tried my best to keep awake while waiting. Think it was quite obvious and rooster on the TV for us. Then eventually we went to meet chip munk for breakfast. It is getting pretty obvious that chip munk do not really like me. My house is surely along his way from Jurong and yet he did not offer. I am not that stupid to ask anymore. I ended up taking a cab home. Taking a cab is not bad either. No need take care of other stuff mah.

I spend the entire morning sleeping, catching my sleep. Then I woke up and spoke with dad and found that he has numbness at his lower back. I read some stuff online and asked some basic questions. He claimed that he is ok, and I cautioned him to signal to me if it is getting worse. If nothing too serious it may be a sign of aging. As we age, our bones will shrink, thus this may led to Degenerative Disc Disease (DDD). If this is the case, it should be ok. But nevertheless, I will monitor some more.

After that I spend some real useful time doing something that I have not done for a long time. Guess what is it? Mopping the floor. Haha. This is a special order from mom, just before she went out. Soon it was lunch time and I bought lunch for dad and me. Char bee hoon. Spend some time watching tv with dad. Precious moments. Then I did some research for car rental and am ready to present the findings. Next, I tried to read my CCNA questions but soon I was busy fighting with Z monster again and I lost - as usual. 40 mins later a phone call from kid woke me up and I resume my reading again. In addition, I also research about the CCNA courses.

Soon it was dinner time and I spend quite sometime watching Stephen Chow's movie. Well, going to have dinner soon. And if time permit, I will blog again. Tomolo going to work again. Time to think about how can I spend my time at work usefully.

Sunday seems so short.

Well, it's Sunday again. Suddenly remember what crabby said: working in lion, everyday is like weekend. I added: and the weekends seems like holidays.

Went to Bugis and ate the "mee sua" at level 3 food court. Not so bad but neither very impressive too. 3 stars rating. Then we went for the road show at bugis, was bombarded with endless of photos. Brain was very saturated. But the service from Seletar is the best, the gal knows what she is selling. The dresses from B***** Concept is beautifully design to taste. Seems like everyone got a selling point there, but just look look and see see lar.

Then after that went to Bishan and had the tim sum at the basement. Another 3 stars shop. If hungry can go grab a bite but neither that fantastic too. After having our fill, we went to kid's house to play PS1. Yes, it very out dated now but still can play. Hahaha. Had some fun before heading home for dinner.

Think gotta sleep soon. Later still must wake up to do maintainance.
Tomolo still must think of car rental, do project, think abt improvement etc etc. Another week coming... Com'on. Let's go.

Intercontinental wedding dinner.

Just returned home from a reservist friend's wedding dinner @ Intercontinental Hotel. The hotel is nice and spacious for a wedding banquet. Grand ballroom with extra-ordinary price I guess. The location of this hotel is especially good for me as I took MRT train there. Food is ok, nothing much to complain.

This morning just went bank hunting with kid. This is to find out what savings plans are there in the market. Anyway, we just open a join account. First step towards next stage? I spend almost the entire afternoon with kid as she is getting sick. Just hope she gets better soon.

But lately from the job change and the wedding dinner, I do not know why I am so "shy". Dont seems like want to speak so much or rather I do not know how to communicate well. Maybe it's time to re-think abt this and find out the cause. Not sure whats happening to me...

Meeting up with Cuiz.

Today tried to take the free company bus to work again. Except that it was slightly later than usual. Reached office then tried to work on the stuff sites inventory excel spreadsheet that Kolar requested. Almost finish doing it, then talked to Song for quite a while before eating my breakfast.

After breakfast, tried to read manuals Chapter 4. There I was struggling so hard to fight my restless spirit. Cant help but feel that today is Friday. Was having some Friday greens. Finally make it till lunch. We went to Ikea for lunch. Fish and chips with drink @ $6. Soon I am back to office again to fight with Z monster. After fighting hard, rooster asked me to go site with him. We went to site to lay the wires and prepared for Monday night. We shifted some stuff here and there to make space for the new equipment. Soon it was past 1815hrs. We ended there and went home. I am grateful that Kolar offer to drive me back to Ang Mo Kio. Then we chatted along the way, and he asked how I "invite" kid home. I told him the whole story and he shared with me his; while we are stucked in the traffic jam. While talking I also asked abt who's driving the company van now. There are no spare vans and some of them dont really need a van. But heck it, because if they want me to work and run ard, if they dont give me a van, then I take cab and claim lor. No van also ok lar, no need worry too much abt parking and stuff like that. We talked quite sometime and finally got a chance to move out of the jammed traffic via Bukit Timah Road exit. Then we took Lornie. Finally he dropped me off near Toa Payoh where I took bus 157 to central.

There I met up with Su, Wx and Cuiz. Had a good them with them and always talking crap. Then we went arcade and watch Cuiz "perform". He is good. There after we parted our ways and headed home. One comment on the food I ate: duno why, but very thirsty now...

Got to go bath soon and catch my sleep. Tired tired tired.

Visit to Motor.

Today I changed my route of going to work again. I tried taking the MRT. Surprisingly I am more relax when I took the train. I do not worry if there is a jam or anything like that. I left home at about 0720hrs and and reached the office by 0840hrs. This is because I managed to take the company bus after alighting from the MRT. "Heng".

Again, I started the morning by surfing some websites for a while. Then I proceed to work on the task Kolar has assigned me. It was gathering the details of the inventory cards outside the plant. Doing that was a repetitious task but rather simple. Next I need to think of how to present the data in a simple manner to others. This was more tedious than gathering the data itself. Soon it was lunch again.

Kolar, chip munk, bear, fat rat and I went to meet our vendor for lunch. Went to Jalan Kayu for Nasi Byrani. After lunch we went to see aero plane at Seletar (led by the vendor - of course). then we went to Motor to have our meeting. There is a list of issues on going and I know none. Nearly slept during meeting. Trying hard to keep myself awake. Next time must remember to print, read and ask about the issues before going meeting. After meeting, we toured Motor and had coffee again.

Then it was time we leave for home. Chip munk was living quite near me and I try to propose that he give me a lift home. I thought he need to turn right after leaving Motor to go to Yio Chu Kang. So I tell him he can drop me somewhere after turning right. But he replied that his house is at the left. ya, he is right, his house is at the left and by turning right he will reach my house. (which I am not aware as I always thought that by turning right will drop me at Yio Chu Kang).
So in the end I opt not to take a ride from him. It is getting obvious that he is reluctant to send me home. he even suggested that he can drop me at compass point and go home by NEL. This is even more ridiculous as he knows where I stay and its out of the way from the NEL. By now, I am not expecting him to help me as a friend. In the end I took a bus to Sgn Nth Ave 4 and transferred another bus home. I think I will not expect help as a friend from him any more. No expectations, no disappointment. I must thank god for letting me home earlier and focus on the fact that I can blog this entry now and go jogging later.

It will be good if I can learn to let go and forget about this issue. But can I do it? It's no point holding on to this stupid thing. If next time I got my transport, then I will avoid today's situation. But only god knows what other issues will there be with my own transport. Lesson learn: dont expect too much help from "friends". Learn to stand on your own. Things were not like that when we are classmates 17 years ago. Isn't it? Human changed? Or everyone is the same, except that we know more about them now?

Arghh...

Arghh, so angry with the waiting time of starhub cs just now. And felt so stupid that I did not think properly before deciding. Shit it.

Today began with the wrong foot off the bed. School holidays are over, darn it. So where on earth all the cars have been hiding during school holidays? Today 74e arrived 10mins later. Then the driver was so courteous that he almost gave way to all the other buses on the way. On the other hand I am panicking over being late. I already did my best to take the first 74e available, but it failed me. To add ice to the snow, cars are piling up from Ang Mo Kio to Marymount. Inching by the minutes, my bus crawled along. There are jammed traffic everywhere. I was half an hour late. But to my surprise, I am still among one of the earliest guy.

I spend the morning reading notes on troubleshooting cable modem. The article was written from the perspective of an end user. Next I went to seek help from colleagues to set up all the rest of the accounts. I did a touch up of the inventory form requested by Kolar. Before I know anything, it was lunch time. After lunch I tried to complete the general layout of the designs (for a document that I can next time refer to). Very soon it was late afternoon, I joined bear and kolar for a discussion, which I know nuts about. I just sat and listen, it seems to me that we are very short handed. There are plenty of things to be done while Kolar is away. Then, I emailed Kolar the inventory forms and I discuss with him on the possible template. Next Kolar assigned me to find out the number of cards in each machine so that we can start a proper system to keep track of our inventory. Very soon the day ended with him giving me a lift to train station.

Next part of the day is wait wait wait and more wait. Went to starhub cs, really inefficient. Wasted a damn 2.5hrs there waiting. Darn it. As lousy as Singtel. No wonder it is difficult to find out which is worse.

So much for the day. Gotta rest and look at my homework now. Tomolo will be better. Grrr...

Tomorrow start work again.

Tomorrow is the first day of work for 2008. Think I will sleep in office again. Perhaps there are too much to learn and I am too eager to learn all. But the problem is that I do not have enough brain power to do so much so fast. Will try my best nevertheless.

Will try to log whatever I do at work during the night immediately. Ooops, still owe Kolar some stuff, gotta remember and get it up tomorrow. Sleep now.

Year 2008

So fast year 2007 whiz past. There are lot of things that happened but also things are discovered that required to be done in 2008.

I have told kid that I will bring her home and thats one of the biggest things. Dad's health is on the way back to recovery. I have changed my job. I have my first ICT, met new friends. Completed Standard Chartered run.

2008 - a lot more to be done. will they be completed? I will try and ensure.

Ok, time to go for my first blading session for the year liao. woo hoo.
